Joining EC4 Music

We are fortunate that the majority of our members chose to stay with us, year on year, so we are always fairly full. However, vacancies do arise from time to time in all sections; particularly if we have the opportunity to scale up for a large concert.

We take a flexible approach to the level of experience we expect in our members. All of our musicians are of a high standard, but we regard enthusiasm and musical appreciation as equal qualities to a CV of playing experience and qualifications. We do not generally operate formal auditions; instead we might invite a new member to come along to a couple of rehearsals.

The strength of EC4 Music lies in the team spirit that prevails amongst the group. To promote this we organise occasional socials, meals and last year had our inaugural away-weekend.

From our members, we expect good attendance at rehearsals, a commitment to learn the music, promotion of ticket sales and modest subscription rates where necessary. In return we offer high-quality performances, thorough rehearsals in a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere.
